Glaze work

 

On this piece I used Turkish Amber and i only dunked it only one time. The only problem i have with the glaze is that I probably should have dunked it more then once because i wanted more of a darker color.





On my Butter Dish I used number 113 of the cover glazes and for the bottom and handle I used number 172 and on the inside I painted on white in order to make it safe to put butter in. I painted all of the colors onto the butter dish. I really like how the glaze turned out on this one the two colors really turned out bright and clear like I wanted them to.





On my tiles I used the cover glazes 291 as my purple, 373 as my pink, 504 as my orange, 502 as my blue, and 512 as my green. I painted them all on with a small brush. I like how the colors turned out i just wish maybe I had used black or white for the backround of the tile.

Elements and Principles of Design

You can use texture on your piece to give your piece dimensions and a new look with variety to using different textures that compliment each other and make the piece have a new and cool inventive look.

In vases i used lines on the outside to give it a more dimensional look. I balanced the lines so one part of the vase was not more busy looking then any other part. Also i used rhythm by just using different forms of straight lines but that dont look the same.

Everything is going well my vases are turning out well. I just have 4 more to trim and also in one of my vases i am carving on but that is all i have left to do. I have no questions or concerns at this time.

3 weeks update

Yes i did like just working on one project at a time. Because i can focus on the one thing and perfect it and not have to worry about the other project and something getting to much or not enough time spent on it. Maybe you could choose your shape of your butter dish. Yes each new project we do is another thing that we can learn how to do sothat our house isn't full of just one type of project.

in the next few weeks i will be perfecting and smoothing out both the top and bottom to my butter dish. after i will be glazing and i have an idea of what i would like to. but that is all i know for this project right now. i have no problems or concerns at this time.

The most influential person to me is my mom. She does everything for me and she is so nice and kind to everyone. I love and appreciate everything that she does for me and my family so much. i would not be the person i am without her.
